Amazon.com Product Description U.S. Divers pulls from its longtime diving heritage and expertise to produce the Purge snorkeling and diving boot, a must for water enthusiasts who want to keep their feet feeling fine while wearing fins. Each low-cut boot features a 3 mm neoprene upper and 5 mm inner sole, which are sturdy and comfortable enough to cushion the feet without feeling bulky. Users will also appreciate the vulcanized rubber sole, which includes a puncture-resistant layer and low-profile grip pads. And thanks to the rubber toe and heel cap, wearers will enjoy a little extra protection against a fin's coarsest surfaces. As a final bonus, the Purge lets users expel water at the heel with a simple push. Available in adult sizes 5 to 13, the black Purge low-cut diving boot carries a two-year limited warranty.

dive boot for summer May 4, 2010 Darth's Ducks (RI) Very good set of low cut diving booties. Easy on and off and durable enough to use walking around beaches, water parks, etc. Was looking for something that was comfortable but would serve the purpose of a diving boot, one that was not too bulky. This fit my requirements and to date, have been completely satisfied with the purchase.
Clarification of sizing issues April 16, 2010 Shark Bait (Lexington, SC USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have 35 years experience as a scuba diver and bought these boots for skin and scuba diving in the Caribbean and Florida.
The sizing for this item is man's shoe size and much of the confusion in reviews I think is based on women buying this item in thier normal shoe size. I bought two different sizes, one pair for myself and one for my wife. My size, a man's size eight is a perfect fit. My wife has a size six woman's foot so I ordered a size 5 for her. I would've ordered a size four if it was available but it is not. The size five is still a little big but overall she is very pleased. I suggest women order this item two sizes smaller.
I had two concerns over the design. I am switching from the typical cold water diver boot to this and was worried whether it covered enough to protect from rubbing and abbrasion at two points. If the top last was too short, the top edge of the fin could rub on the top/front of the foot/ankle. Secondly, a previous review about the sewn on tab at the rear over the achilles' tendon worried me about abrasion from the fin strip. Neither is a concern. The boot extends high enough on the foot to protect it from the abrasion from the top of the fin and the rear tab and high back provide sufficient protection from abbrasion from the fin strip. The rear tab is very high and out of the way from where I typically wear my fin strips. The rear tab is not an issue for me.
For 35 years I've walked out of the ocean with a quart of water in each booty, and then hopped about, pulling the top of the booty from my leg to let the water drain out. I can't say that the purge is incredible but it does work. The boots drain.
THe sole is glued on and is robust enough to protect the soles and lower edge of the feet while walking over broken gravel/rocks etc. The sides of the shoe sole come up about half an inch.
good water shoes January 26, 2010 Erin Stockschlaeder (New York) very durable and good water shoes. I used them in flippers while scuba diving and also while hiking in wet areas. The only thing I did not like is the water stayed in them after I got out of the ocean and I would have to take them off the empty them.
Booties Review March 31, 2009 N. Romanoff Good quality. Used and abused for one week straight, everyday. They held up and still look new.
Worth the money August 10, 2008 Just a girl (Concord, CA USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
These are somewhat comfortable and fit well (but they are men's sizes, so beware).
I plan to wear them to a theme park and other places my feet may get wet.
They are the best water shoes. The sole is rubber, not neoprene so they will do fine on rocks.
They are a bit warm.
